Being a leader of transmission repair all over Vancouver Island, we get asked a lot of questions when it comes to transmissions. One of the most common one is “Do manual and automatic transmissions have different servicing needs?” It’s a good question as we see many automatic and manual transmissions these days.
Here’s our answer.
Internally, automatic and manual transmissions are completely different. Either way, it is important to keep your transmission properly maintained and serviced on a regular basis. Automatic transmissions should be inspected every 2 to 3 years (30-40,000 km), and manual transmissions every 3 to 4 years (40-50,000 km).
